A puzzle made from your words
Start with a familiar theme, or choose words from a book you are reading together. Easy puzzles hide words left to right and top to bottom. Medium puzzles also include downward diagonals; neither mode uses backwards words.
The PDF has two pages: the puzzle first, then a marked answer key. Print only page 1 for the learner and keep page 2 for checking. Each new puzzle changes the letter grid.
Make it a shared activity
Read the word list together before looking at the grid. Find the first letter, then follow the row or column. After finishing, choose three words and use them in a short story.
